Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF OXYGEN SATURATION IN ASTHMA PATIENTS AT RSD MANGUSADA BADUNG IN 2021 ABSTRACT Asthma is a chronic disease that is not contagious. Asthma with recurring bouts of shortness of breath and wheezing, the severity and frequency of which varies from person to person. The main complaint that often occurs in asthma sufferers is shortness of breath, shortness of breath can occur due to narrowing of the airways due to hyperreaction of the airways. This study used a descriptive method with a sample of 45 respondents. The data to be collected in this study is secondary data derived from existing documents, namely all patient medical records in the form of oxygen saturation data at the time the patient was admitted to the hospital and while hospitalized at RSD Mangusada Badung. The instrument used by researchers in this study was data through observation sheets. The results of this study indicate that of the 45 respondents at RSD Mangusada Badung, 21 respondents (46.7%) experienced mild hypoxia and 13 respondents (28.9%) experienced hypoxia. With Mean (92.31%), Median (92%), Mode (90%), and Standard deviation (2.275). In this study, it is expected that nurses will maintain a continuous oxygen saturation value in asthma patients. The results of this study can be used as reference material to develop nursing knowledge, especially regarding the Oxygen Saturation Picture in Asthma Patients. Key words: Oxygen, Asthma, Saturation
