Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF ADHERENCE TO DIET IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS AT THE MENGWI I HEALTH CENTER IN 2021 ABSTRACT Hypertension, namely high blood pressure is abnormal, in general a person experiences hypertension if the blood pressure is more than 140 mmHg systolic and more than 90 mmHg diastolic. High blood pressure is often called the "silent killer" because it has no signs and symptoms, so many people don't realize it. One of the treatments for hypertension is dietary compliance in hypertensive patients. This study aims to describe dietary adherence in hypertensive patients. This research uses descriptive research. This research was conducted at Puskesmas Mengwi I with a population of 789 respondents and a sample of 88 respondents using probability sampling techniques, namely simple random sampling, using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the majority of 88 respondents were aged 46 - 55 years, as many as 33 people (37.5%). The majority of them were male, as many as 54 people (61.4%). The majority of the latest education up to SMA is 59 people (67.0%). The majority of respondents who work as self-employed are as many as 37 people (42.0%). The majority of respondents with low adherence to diet were 54 people (61.4%), 32 people (36.4%) moderate adherence, and 2 people (2.2%) high adherence. Hypertension patients are expected to be able to change their behavior to increase their adherence to the diet. Key words: Hypertension, Diet
