Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF BODY TEMPERATURE IN TYPHOID FEVER PATIENTS AT BRSU TABANAN IN 2021 ABSTRACT Introduction: Typhoid fever is a systemic bacterial infection by Salmonella typhii bacteria found in developing countries. Indonesia is one of the typhoid fever endemic areas. The patient's body temperature tends to fluctuate. This study aims to determine the picture of body temperature in typhoid fever patients at BRSUD Tabanan in 2021. Methods: This study used a descriptive research type with an observational design using a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was non probability sampling with consecutive sampling. The study was conducted with a study of the documentation of the medical records of typhoid fever patients in 2020. The sample selection using the Slovin formula obtained 30 samples. Results and Discussion: Based on the characteristics, the majority of respondents were female, amounting to 17 people (57%). The highest number occurred in adolescents (12-25 years) as many as 15 people (50%). Based on BMI, the highest is included in the normal classification of 15 respondents (50%), the thin classification is 9 respondents (30%), and the fat classification is 6 respondents (20%). The patient's body temperature appears to fluctuate in the morning and at night. During the day of treatment, the patient experienced an improvement in body temperature. Patients with obese BMI have a higher body temperature than normal / thin BMI. Suggestion: To all people, especially adolescents, to have a clean and healthy lifestyle so that the community's health status will increase. Keywords: Description. Body temperature. Characteristics.
