Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF HIV EXAMINATION RESULTS IN TB PATIENTS IN SURYA HUSADHA UBUNG GENERAL HOSPITAL Abstract Background. Tuberculosis (TB) is an opportunistic disease that is often found in people living with HIV, however HIV infection will increase a person's susceptibility to TB infection, Infection with HIV is the most powerful known risk factor for Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and progression to active disease. Objective. This study aims to provide an overview of the results of HIV testing in tuberculosis patients. Method. This research is a descriptive study using secondary data from 2017 to 2019 at Surya HusadhaUbung General Hospital, used 109 samples of Tuberculosis respondents who were tested for HIV. Results. showed the characteristics of the respondents mostly aged 46-60 years as much as 32.1%,gender of male as much as 58.7% and private workers as much as 39.5%.The results of HIV testing in Tuberculosis patients showed positive results of 23.85% and negative of 76.15%. Conclution. The results of HIV testing were mostly found in men, in the age group 31-45 years and private workers. Keywords: TB, HIV
