Abstract

The need for a balanced nutrition is very influential on the health of the teeth and mouth. Improper feeding can cause caries Rampant in infants and toddlers. Initial caries in primary teeth due to exposure of the teeth by the sweet liquid in the long term either because bottle feeding and breast milk are less precise. Caries is usually seen in children aged 1-2 years, grow quickly, can be about many teeth and cause severe pain. Rampant caries in children who are breastfed or bottle reportedly occurred because the child is left to suckle at night while sleeping. During sleep, saliva production is reduced so that the protective effect on the tooth to be small. The severity of caries is related to the amount and duration of bottle feeding and breast milk. The purpose of this study is to describe the comparison of feeding with formula milk to Rampant caries in toddlers. This research is a field research Risset with research design using a descriptive method. The population of this research is the Son Toddler in IHC Jatipancur Greged District of Cirebon. The sampling technique in this research that the type of quota sampling totaling 30 toddlers. The results showed 15 people in Posyandu toddler Jatipancur Greged District of Cirebon who are breastfed, 10 of them experienced Rampant caries with caries prevalence was 66.67% and of 15 toddlers in IHC Jatipancur Greged District of Cirebon who consumed milk formula, 13 of them experienced Rampant caries with caries prevalence of 86.67%. Conclusion: based on research conducted in toddlers aged 6-36 months show that toddlers who are breastfed have fewer than Rampant caries in toddlers who consume formula milk.
