Abstract

Abstract. These days, the dental nurse professionals are the health care professionals whom are on decent demands from the perspective of the number of graduates and the educational institutions on this major. They work both in governm ent and private sectors. The objective of his sutudy is to identify the profiles of Diploma III of the graduates of the dental nurse department of Poltekkes Denpasar in 2001-2011. The profiles includes the waiting period, percentage of graduates who have worked and the income they earn in the employment market. The method applied in this study has been done descriptively with survey approach. The subject of the dental nurse of Potekkes Denpasar in 2001-2011 consisting of 234 garduates. The result of the data collection with survey technique and documentation, it was receved respondents of 181 graduates. Data analysis technique being applied is descriptive analysis with percentage which is subsequently described as a representation of the absorption level of the graduates in the employment market. The result of the research on the absorption level of Dental Nurse Department of Poltekkes Denpasar in 2001-2011 is 100% in the employment market with the following details: a. At 48.6% of the graduates waiting for their jobs for less than 3 months period, only 1.7% of the graduates got their first jobs over 24 months; b. With regard to the percentage of work place of the graduates, the finding is as follow; b. 52.5% works in; Private Health Care Units/Dentists’ Clinics and only 2.8% in the International companies. c. With regard to the relevance of skills, the finding is as follow: 76.5% said that their jobs are relevant and 6.1% said not relevant; d. Majority of the graduates got their first job information from friends/family members; e. With regard to the income earned by the Diploma III graduates for their first jobs, majority of them got an approoximate income from 1-2 million per month.
