Abstract

THE OVERVIEW OF NUMBER OF GERMS AND IDENTIFICATION OF Staphylococcus aureus BACTERIA ON THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST'S HANDS AT PRIVATE PRACTICE IN DALUNG VILLAGE NORTH KUTA SUB-DISTRICT ABSTRACT Nosocomial infections is an infections that patients get during treatment in the hospitals and other health care facilities. Transmission of infections can be through direct contact with health workers, one of them is physiotherapist when conducting clinical activities in form of direct contact with patients in hospitals or health care facilities. The purpose of this research is to determine description of the number of germs and presence of Staphylococcus aureus in physiotherapist’s hands at private practice in Dalung Village North Kuta Sub-District. This type of research is descriptive with 15 samples. The sampling method is accidental with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Number of germs was obtained from culture on PCA and identification of Staphylococcus aureus done by culture on MSA continued with catalase and coagulase tests if MSA showed positive results. The results were analyzed descriptively and presented in tabular form then given a narrative. From the results, the number of germs in 15 samples (100%) of physiotherapist’s hand swabs met the standard and there were no Staphylococcus aureus. The conclusion of this research was all physiotherapist’s hands had good hand hygiene and number of germs that met the 2009 WHO Standard and found no Staphylococcus aureus in all samples. Keywords: nosocomial infection, number of germs, Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, hands hygiene GAMBARAN ANGKA KUMAN DAN IDENTIFIKASI BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus PADA TANGAN PETUGAS FISIOTERAPI PRAKTEK MANDIRI DI DESA DALUNG KECAMATAN KUTA UTARA ABSTRAK Infeksi nosokomial adalah infeksi yang didapatkan pasien selama perawatan di rumah sakit dan fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan lainnya. Penularan infeksi nosokomial dapat melalui kontak langsung petugas kesehatan salah satunya petugas fisioterapi saat melakukan aktifitas klinis berupa kontak langsung dengan pasien di rumah sakit ataupun fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan lainnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran angka kuman dan keberadaan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada tangan petugas fisioterapi praktek mandiri di Desa Dalung Kecamatan Kuta Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan besar sampel sebanyak 15 sampel. Metode pengambilan sampel yaitu accidental sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Jumlah angka kuman didapatkan dari kultur pada media PCA sedangkan identifikasi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dilakukan dengan kultur pada media MSA serta dilanjutkan uji katalase dan koagulase apabila pada media MSA menunjukkan hasil kultur positif. Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel kemudian diberi narasi. Dari hasil penelitian, didapatkan jumlah angka kuman pada 15 sampel (100%) swab tangan tenaga fisioterapi memenuhi standar dan tidak terdapat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh tangan petugas fisioterapi memiliki higienitas tangan yang baik dan memiliki angka kuman yang memenuhi Standar WHO 2009 serta tidak ditemukan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada seluruh sampel swab tangan.
