Abstract
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) adalah sitokin pro-inflamasi untuk menilai tingkat inflamasi yang dialami oleh sel endotel pembuluh darah. Nilai normal kadar serum interleukin-6 adalah < 4 pg/ml dan tergolong meningkat jika kadarnya ≥ 4 pg/ml. Perilaku merokok dapat meningkatkan kadar interleukin-6 dalam serum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar serum interleukin-6 pada perokok aktif. Sampel penelitian adalah 11 orang perokok aktif di Kepolisian Daerah Bali yang dipilih dengan teknik sampling non probability sampling dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Pengukuran kadar serum interleukin-6 dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode ELISA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar serum interleukin-6 meningkat pada semua golongan usia dan paling banyak ditemukan pada usia 35 – 44 tahun (36,3%), dengan IMT normal dan gemuk yaitu masing – masing 45,5%, pada perokok jenis rokok putih dengan filter (72,7%), intensitas merokok sedang (63,6%), dengan lama merokok 11 – 15 tahun (36,4%). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar perokok aktif mengalami peningkatan kadar serum interleukin-6. Kepada peneliti lain yang melakukan penelitian sejenis, agar lebih memperhatikan faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi kadar serum interleukin-6 misalnya konsumsi obat – obatan dan penyakit tertentu. The normal value of serum interleukin-6 levels is <4 pg / ml and is classified as increased if the level is ≥ 4 pg / ml. Smoking can increase levels of interleukin-6 in serum. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of serum interleukin-6 levels in active smokers. The research sample was 11 active smokers in the Bali Regional Police who were selected using a non-probability sampling technique using purposive sampling. Measurement of serum interleukin-6 levels was performed using the ELISA method. The results showed that serum interleukin-6 levels increased in all age groups and most were found at the age of 35-44 years (36.3%), with normal and obese BMI each 45.5%, in white cigarette smokers with filters (72.7%), moderate smoking intensity (63.6%), with smoking duration of 11-15 years (36.4%). The conclusion in this study is that most active smokers have increased serum interleukin-6 levels. To other researchers who conduct similar studies, to pay more attention to factors that affect serum levels of interleukin-6 for example consumption of drugs and certain diseases.
