Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infection that has high prevalence in Bali. ARI is one of the main cause’s patient visits to public health center (40-60%) and hospital (15-30%). Data from the pattern of 10 most diseases in the Public Health Technical Implementation Unit in Gianyar Regency shows that ARI is first order with a total of 24,274 cases or 40.98%. Giving antibiotics is a common therapy that is done in cases of infections caused by bacteria. By knowing the pattern of bacteria, the selection of empirical therapy can be determined. In determining the administration of antibiotics must be in accordance with clinical conditions, germ patterns and antibiotic resistance in the hospital (Setiawati, 2018). This study aims to determine the pattern of bacteria and their sensitivity to antibiotics isolated from sputum samples of patients with acute respiratory infections. The study was conducted quantitative descriptively with retrospective data collection based on medical record data and the results of microbiological examinations of ARI patients at RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar in 2019 which is analyzed descriptively. The results showed the most bacteria found in ARI patients’ sputum are Klebsiella pneumoniae which were sensitive to amikacin antibiotics and resistant to cefriaxone, ciprofloxacin, ampicillin, ampicillin-sulbactam, cotrimoxazole, and aztreonam antibiotics. Keywords: ARI, Bacterial Pattern, Sensitivity, Antibiotics
