Abstract

THE BENEFIT OF WARM COMPRESSED FOR THE INTENCITY OF MENSTRUAL PAIN IN THE GIRL ADOLESCENCE AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2 SEMARAPURA ABSTRACT Menstrual pain is defined as difficult menstrual flow or painful menstruation. Menstrual pain apart from being the most common problem is also the reason for the decline in women's activity during menstruation. Warm compresses are nonpharmacological treatments that can be used to reduce pain during menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of giving warm compresses to the intensity of menstrual pain in young women. This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The sample used was 33 students of class VIII at Junior High School 2 Semarapura who met the inclusion criteria chosen by proportional random sampling. Data collection by providing a googleform link that contains the identity and assessment of menstrual pain pain scale before and after the intervention. Respondents do warm compresses for 20-30 minutes during menstrual pain. Data analysis uses univariate which is to determine min, max, median, and standard deviation and bivariate using Wilcoxon test with significance level <0.05. The result of menstrual pain levels before the intervention obtained a median value of 6, and after the intervention a decrease in median to 2 with a p value of 0,000. The conclusion is that warm compresses are beneficial for menstrual pain intensity, so the reseacrhers suggest that warm compresses can be applied when girls experience menstrual pain.
