Abstract
Headache (acute pain) is a common nursing problem in hypertensive clients. Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is often referred to as "sillent killer", a disease that often arises suddenly and can kill silently because the symptoms are often not visible and sufferers often do not feel pain before. This study aims to describe nursing care with the provision of slow deep breathing to overcome acute pain in the family of hypertension in the work area UPT Kesmas Sukawati I Year 2018. This study used methods interviews, observation, and documentation. The type of research used is descriptive research type with case study design on two clients in family of hypertension. The approach is based on five nursing processes, namely assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The results of the study were diagnosed with acute pain and planned slow slow breathing. Slow deep breathing is done 2 times a day for 15 minutes. The result of the study with case study approach showed that after the nursing care for three visits, the result showed that the pain felt by client I decreased from scale 3 to 0-1 (no pain) and client II decreased from scale 2 to 1. Families are expected to be able to obtain information from visual, verbal, and audio media about non-pharmacological action of slow deep breathing.
