Abstract
The habit of eating foods that contain high purines (nuts and drinks or foods containing alcohol) is one of the triggering factors of gout arthritis. Gout arthritis is a joint inflammation resulting from the accumulation of monosodium in the blood. The impact that can be caused that is on the patient's activity due to the sensation caused. In a family, not all family members have knowledge about the treatment of gout arthritis. This can lead to ineffective family health management. This study aims to determine the description of nursing care gout arthritis patients with ineffective family health management at working area of UPT Kesmas Sukawati I in 2018. The research was started on 23-26 April 2018. The type of research used was descriptive research with case study design on two patients with gout arthritis who experienced ineffective family health management. The result of case study showed after given nursing care for 4x60 minutes family able to do health management effectively. Suggestion to the UPT Kesmas Sukawati I can provide education about the handling of gout arthritis so that the family is able to do the management of gout in addition to that the next researches can further develop the research in the form of factors affecting health management, to the subject of research in order to increase knowledge about handling gout arthritis..
