Abstract
The prevalence of candidiasis has been increased globally. Despite C. albicans, candidiasis can be caused by the C. non-albicans. Now using fluconazole in therapy candidiasis is widely and inadequately, so sensitivity of Candida to antifungy was decreased. This study aimed to isolate and determine the sensitivity of C. albicans and C. non-albicans to fluconazole. Candida was isolated from vaginal swab, oral cavity and urine samples. Candida was cultured on Saboraud Dextrose agar, identified by microscopically, and tested by germ tube. Isolated Candida was tested for sensitivity to fluconazole by disc diffusion method, subsequently the data was analyzed descriptively. Candida has been isolated successfully from vaginal swab (17), oral cavity (16), and urine (27). Characteristic of isolated Candida were yeast colonies, forming blastospores, pseudohifa, chlamydospores, and positive germ tubes for C. albicans, negative for C. non-albicans. Sensitivity test showed that 63% Candida albicans was sensitive and 4% was resistant. While Candida nonalbicans isolates showed 20% sensitive and 14% resistant to fluconazole. These results showed that C. albicans and C. non-albicans have decreased sensitivity to fluconazole. Selain jamur C. albicans, kandidiasis juga dapat disebabkan oleh jamur C. non-albicans. Penggunaan flukonazol sebagai terapi pada pasien kandidiasis secara luas dan tidak adekuat mengakibatkan penurunan kepekaan obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengetahui sensitivitas jamur C. albicans dan C. nonalbicans terhadap flukonazol. Jamur Candida diisolasi dari sampel swab vagina, swab rongga mulut dan urin. Jamur dikultur pada media Saboraud Dextrose Agar, diidentifikasi secara mikroskopis, dan diuji germ tube. Jamur hasil isolasi diuji sensitivitasnya terhadap flukonazol dengan metode difusi cakram, data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Jamur Candida yang berhasil diisolasi dari sampel swab vagina (17), swab rongga mulut (16), dan urin (27) memiliki karakteristik koloni yeast, membentuk blastospora, pseudohifa, klamidospora, dan germ tube untuk C. albicans, sedangkan C. non-albicans tidak terdapat germ tube. Uji sensitivitas dari 30 isolat C. albicans menujukkan 63% sensitif dan 4% resisten. Sedangkan dari 30 isolat Candida non-albicans menunjukkan 20% sensitif dan dan 14% resisten terhadap fllukonazol. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan jamur C. albicans dan C. nonalbicans mengalami penurunan sensitivitas terhadap flukonazol. Kata Kunci :Isolasi, C. albicans, C. non-albicans, sensitivitas, flukonazol
