Abstract

Environmental-based diseases are still a public health problem to date. One of the diseases caused by environmental sanitation that does not meet health requirements is dengue hemorrhagic fever. Padangsambian Kaja Village is located in the working area of Public healt center I of West Denpasar and became the village with the highest Incidence Rate in January-July 2019 with IR 257.68 per 100,000 population. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of community actions in carrying out eradication of mosquito nests with the presence of mosquito larvae in Padangsambian Kaja Village, Denpasar City. This type of research is descriptive research with cross sectional method. The sample in this study were 100 houses in the Padangsambian Kaja Village area. The type of data collected in this study were secondary data in the form of community mutual assistance data and recapitulation data on larval monitoring results in the Padangsambian Kaja village area, then the data were analyzed using Chi Square Test. The results of the study showed that from 100 samples of community actions in the good category 84 (84%) and 16 (16%) in the category of positive mosquito larvae were 2 houses (2%) and negative 98 houses (98%). The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square Test are known to be Asymp Sig (2-tailed) 0.001 alpa 0.05, and have a level of correlation with the Coefficient Contingency (CC) value of 0.311. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between community actions in carrying out eradication of mosquito nests with the presence of aegypti larva larvae in the village of Padangsambian Kaja with a low level of relationship category. Suggestions for the community to be able to play an active role in carrying out PSN activities and always maintain the cleanliness of the neighborhood and participate in mutual assistance activities in the village environment area and for Public healt center I of West Denpasar are expected to routinely carry out larvae monitoring to residents' homes and conduct health promotion programs which can be done through advocacy to members of the village apparatus so that nantiny'a supports the mosquito breeding eradication program.
