Abstract

Cutting teeth ceremony is a religious ritual that must undergo by every Hindu people but most especially by those who are entering teenage year. This leaching consists of values education and knowledge which is needed as the person grows up to the level of teen age year as an instrument in the development phase of a child (Arwati, 2006). It is believed that through the cutting of teeth ceremony the three elements of Hindu religion are united, namely: tradition, culture and religion. On the moment of cutting ceremony, the teeth that are being cut are six teeth which is located in the front upper jaw. According to Widayanti (2010), from the 85 respondent who have complain after experiencing the teeth being cut, all of them had given more than one complain and about 30.58% was experiencing three complains, and only 2.35% was experiencing six complains, hence. This research would like to know the relationship of the knowledge degree of sangging about, healthy teeth and mouth with the utilizing the tools based on the characteristic sangging in the Province of Bali 2010. This research used descriptive method with cross sectional design. The research population is covering the whole sangging are in Bali. The data gathered will be analyzed by using the univariate statistic namely: frequency, mean and to know the correlation between two variables used Rank Spearman Correlation test. The result of this research has shown that the degree of knowledge about teeth and mouth health is very varied. The average of the knowledge degree is in enough criteria. The relation between the knowledge degree of teeth and mouth health with utilizing sangging s tools by using the Rank Spearman Correlation test has shown that: there is a significant relationship
