Abstract

Sexually transmitted infection is a group of a disease affecting humans through sexual intercourse. This relationship including sex through the coitus , the mouth (oral) , or rectal (anal). During the last decade, the insidens of sexually transmitted infections is increasing rapidly in various countries around the world. The risk factors for sexually transmitted infection are multipartner sexual intercourse, blood transfusion and the use of needles not according medical indications , and a lack of knowledge reproductive health. The causes of sexually transmitted infection is very diverse and will create the different specific clinical symptoms. The classifications of sexually transmitted infection based on causative agent are Bacteria (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia trachomatis, Haemophilus ducreyi, Calymmatobacterium granulomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Salmonella sp, Shigella sp, Campylobacter sp, Streptococcus grup B, Mobiluncus sp), Protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia), Viral (Type 1 and 2 of Human Immunodeficiency Virus , Type 1 and 2 of Herpes Simplex Virus, Human Papiloma Virus, Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr Virus, Molluscum contagiosum virus), Echoparasit (Pthirus pubis, Sarcoptes scabei) and Fungi (Candida albicans). Considering the high incidence of the sexually transmitted infection, prevention and comprehensive treatment must be done. The health public provider must be improve the information by doing counseling, spreading some leaflet about prevention and comprehensive treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
