Abstract
A research on the molecular identification of streptococcal bacteria associated with grouper fishes was conducted in order to find out the definite identity of these bacteria. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was applied in this research where sequences of 16S rRNA marker sequences of the bacteria were the amplified targets. Sequences of each sample ware determined by sequencing technique and performed at the Berkeley Sequencing Facility, USA. Sequences obtained in this study were aligned and BLAST with MEGA5.0 software. The results showed that a species of streptococcal bacteria was successfully identified in this study.
