Abstract
Intestinal worm infection is one of the health problems in the tropics. Results from the initial observation of worm egg contamination examination on cabbage vegetables conducted in Denpasar Health Polytechnic laboratory showed that there was contamination of egg worm in cabbage vegetables. In addition, lalapan traders also pay less attention to vegetable leaching techniques and less attention to sanitation in the vicinity of walnuts stalls. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of contamination of intestinal nematode eggs STH group, the type and percentage of cabbage vegetables used as fresh vegetables. Vegetables served raw can be a worm egg transmission agent. This research was conducted using descriptive method with total sampling technique. Based on the result of research from 20 samples found the contamination of worm eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides STH type in 2 samples (10%) and Ancylostoma duodenale eggs on 1 sample (5%). Contamination of soil transmitted intestinal nematodes (STH) in cabbage vegetables can be due to a variety of factors including natural factors. Natural factors include soil, temperature, climate and humidity. In addition, factors related to contamination of cabbage vegetables include poor sanitation, lack of knowledge and defecation habits in most places, especially in agricultural / plantation areas and in rivers, and lack of hygiene in vegetable processing before serving.
