Abstract

Diarrhea is a disorder of bowel movements more than 3 times a day with the consistency of liquid stool, can be accompanied by blood and / or mucus. Diarrhea is increasing every year in health centers II in western Denpasar. Diarrhea is caused by the poor condition of basic sanitation, the physical environment and the lack of maternal behavior on how to care for milk bottles. Diarrhea can be fatal and can cause death. This study aims to determine the relationship of maternal behavior about how to care for milk bottles with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the work area of Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat in 2019. The type of research used is non-experimental with correlational and cross sectional approaches using non probability sampling with purposive sampling . The number of samples is 133 people. The study was conducted in April to May 2019. Data collection used a mother's behavioral questionnaire on how to care for milk bottles and interviews with diarrhea. The results showed the highest maternal age range was 29-37 years, which was 56 (42.1%), the highest number of self-employed jobs was 44 (33.1%), 71 most senior high school / vocational education (53.4%), the most good behavior about how to care for milk bottles 100 (75.2%), most did not experience diarrhea while using milk bottles (63.2%) Hypothesis testing using chi square with a value of p = 0.002 (α = 0.05). There is a significant correlation between the behavior behavior of mothers on how to care for milk bottles with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the work area of Denpasar Barat Health Center II in 2019. Suggestion: It is expected that posyandu students and cadres can socialize about maternal behavior about how to care for milk bottles with diarrhea in toddler Kejadian diare di Indonesia setiap tahunnya semakin meningkat dan kini kejadian diare menjadi potensial penyakit luar biasa. Kejadian diare dapat ditandai dengan buang air besar lebih dari 3 kali sehari dengan konsistensi tinja cair, dapat disertai dengan darah dan atau lendir. Diare disebabkan karena masih buruknya kondisi sanitasi dasar, lingkungan fisik maupun masih kurangnya perilaku ibu tentang cara perawatan botol susu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku ibu tentang cara perawatan botol susu dengan kejadian diare pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat Tahun 2019. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah non-eksperimen dengan jenis korelasional dan pendekatan cross sectional menggunakan non probability sampling dengan purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 133 orang. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2019. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner perilaku ibu tentang cara perawatan botol susu dan wawancara kejadian diare. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kisaran usia ibu balita terbanyak yaitu 29-37 tahun yaitu 56 (42,1%), pekerjaan terbanyak wiraswasta 44 (33,1%), pendidikan terbanyak SMA/SMK 71 (53,4%), terbanyak perilaku yang baik tentang cara perawatan botol susu 100 (75,2%), terbanyak tidak mengalami diare selama menggunakan botol susu (63,2%) Uji hipotesis menggunakan chi square dengan nilai p=0,002 (α=0,05). Ada hubungan yang signifikan hubungan perilaku ibu tentang cara perawatan botol susu dengan kejadian diare pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat Tahun 2019. Saran : diharapkan mahasiswa dan kader posyandu dapat mensosialisasikan mengenai perilaku ibu tentang cara perawatan botol susu dengan kejadian diare pada balita
