Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-EFFICACY AND SELF-STIGMA AMONG PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV (PLHIV) AT YAYASAN BALI PEDULI IN 2026 ABSTRACT People living with HIV (PLHIV) face various psychosocial challenges, one of which is self-stigma, which can affect their quality of life and adherence to treatment; therefore, self-efficacy is believed to play a crucial role in helping PLHIV cope with the psychological and social pressures resulting from their condition; This 2026 study, conducted at the Bali Peduli Foundation, aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and self-stigma among PLHIV. It employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 40 PLHIV selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the HIV Treatment Adherence Self-Efficacy Scale (HIV-ASES) and the Berger HIV Stigma Scale (BHSS). The data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test, revealing that all subjects exhibited high self-efficacy (100%) while the majority reported moderate self-stigma (65.0%). Hypothesis testing confirmed a significant, negative correlation between self-efficacy and self-stigma (p = 0.021; r = −0.363), which remained significant after controlling for age (p = 0.019; r = −0.374). It can therefore be concluded that the higher the self-efficacy of people living with HIV, the lower the self-stigma they experience. Further research is recommended to examine other psychosocial factors that contribute to the development of self-stigma among people living with HIV. Keywords: people living with HIV, self-efficacy, self-stigma, HIV HUBUNGAN EFIKASI DIRI DENGAN STIGMA DIRI PADA ORANG DENGAN HIV (ODHIV) DI YAYASAN BALI PEDULI TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Orang dengan HIV (ODHIV) menghadapi berbagai permasalahan psikososial, salah satunya stigma diri yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas hidup dan kepatuhan pengobatan, sehingga efikasi diri diyakini berperan penting dalam membantu ODHIV menghadapi tekanan psikologis dan sosial akibat kondisi yang dialami; penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan efikasi diri dengan stigma diri pada ODHIV di Yayasan Bali Peduli Tahun 2026 ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional terhadap 40 ODHIV yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, dengan data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen HIV Treatment Adherence Self-Efficacy Scale (HIV-ASES) dan Berger HIV Stigma Scale (BHSS) serta dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Rank, dan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh subjek memiliki efikasi diri tinggi (100%) sementara sebagian besar memiliki stigma diri kategori sedang (65,0%), dengan hasil uji hipotesis membuktikan adanya hubungan yang signifikan dan berarah negatif antara efikasi diri dengan stigma diri (p = 0,021; r = -0,363), yang tetap signifikan setelah mengontrol variabel usia (p = 0,019; r = -0,374), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi efikasi diri ODHIV maka semakin rendah stigma diri yang dialami, dan disarankan penelitian selanjutnya mengkaji faktor psikososial lain yang turut berperan dalam pembentukan stigma diri pada ODHIV.
