Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is a common disease in children, with the highest incidence in toddlers at 156 million of the total global cases (WHO, 2022). This case report aims to address the problem of ineffective airway clearance in toddlers with bronchopneumonia through nursing care. The method of this case report is a 3-year-old toddler with a medical diagnosis of bronchopneumonia who meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This case report was written using a descriptive method so that it can describe the care comprehensively. The results of the TTV assessment: RR: 39x/minute, SpO2: 94%, Pulse: 140x/minute, Temperature: 36.2°C. The results of the assessment also obtained patient data An. Ineffective cough, difficulty removing secretions, and additional sounds of wet rhonchi were heard. The diagnosis of bleeding formulated was ineffective airway clearance related to retained secretions. The primary drug interventions were airway management and respiratory monitoring, with supporting interventions including inhalation medication and non-pharmacological therapy, including hot steam inhalation and eucalyptus oil. Nursing care was provided for 3 days, with evaluation results indicating the best treatment options. In conclusion, nursing care can help address retained secretions in toddlers with bronchopneumonia. It is recommended that this intervention be applied in similar cases. Keywords : Nursing care, Ineffective Airway Clearance, Bronchopneumonia Bronkopneumonia merupakan penyakit yang umum terjadi pada anak, dengan angka kejadian tertinggi pada balita sebesar 156 juta dari total kasus global (WHO, 2022). Laporan kasus ini bertujuan mengatasi masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada balita dengan Bronkopneumonia melalui asuhan keperawatan. Metode laporan kasus ini adalah seorang balita berusia 3 tahun dengan diagnosa medis Bronkopneumonia yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Laporan kasus ini ditulis dengan metode deskriptif sehingga dapat menggambarkan asuhan keperawatan secara menyeluruh. Hasil pengkajian TTV : RR : 39x/menit SpO2 : 94%, Nadi : 140x/menit, Suhu ; 36,2°C. Hasil pengkajian juga diperoleh data pasien An. A batuk tidak efektif, tidak mampu batuk, sulit mengeluarkan sekret, dan terderngar suara tambahan ronchi basah. Diagnosis keperawatan yang dirumuskan yaitu bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif berhubungan dengan sekresi yang tertahan. Intervensi keperawatan utama yaitu manajemen jalan napas dan pemantauan respirasi dengan intervensi pendukung yaitu pemberian obat inhalasi, dan pemberian terapi non farmakologis yaitu terapi inhalasi uap air panas dan minyak kayu putih. Asuhan keperawatan diberikan selama 3 hari dengan hasil evaluasi menunjukan masalah keperawatan teratasi. Kesimpulannya, pemberian asuhan keperawatan dapat membantu mengatasi sekresi yang tertahan pada balita Bronkopneumonia. Saran agar intervensi ini diterapkan dalam penanganan kasus serupa.
