Abstract
SKRINING HIPERURISEMIA PADA PEMINUM MINUMAN BERALKOHOL DI DESA SEDANG, KECAMATAN ABIANSEMAL, KABUPATEN BADUNG ABSTRACT Background: Uric acid is the end product of purin metabolism which can increase due to impaired excretion or excessive production, leading to hyperuricemia. Alcohol consumption is known to contribute to elevated uric acid levels through increased purin metabolism and inhibition of renal excretion. Objective: This study aims to describe the screening profile of hyperuricemia among alcohol drinkers in Sedang Village, Abiansemal Subdistrict, Badung Regency. Methods: This research employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach involving 43 male respondents aged 20-75 years who consume alcoholic beverages, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and measurement of uric acid levels using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. Results: The study revealed that 23 respondents (54%) had high uric acid levels while 20 respondents (46%) were within normal range. The highest proportion of elevated uric acid levels based on age was found in the 45-60 years age group (28%). High uric acid levels were also more frequently observed among respondents with alcohol consumption duration >8 years (49%), frequency >4 times per week (30%), heavy consumption of 2-4 bottles/day (28%), and among consumers of group A alcoholic beverages (40%). Conclusion: The majority of findings indicate a tendency toward increased uric acid levels among alcohol drinkers, particularly those with high and long-term consumption patterns. Keywords: hyperuricemia, alcohol SKRINING HIPERURISEMIA PADA PEMINUM MINUMAN BERALKOHOL DI DESA SEDANG, KECAMATAN ABIANSEMAL, KABUPATEN BADUNG ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Asam urat merupakan hasil akhir metabolisme purin yang dapat meningkat akibat gangguan ekskresi atau peningkatan produksi, sehingga menyebabkan hiperurisemia. Konsumsi alkohol diketahui berperan dalam meningkatkan kadar asam urat melalui peningkatan metabolisme purin dan hambatan ekskresi oleh ginjal. Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran skrining hiperurisemia pada peminum minuman beralkohol di Desa Sedang, Kecamatan Abiansemal, Kabupaten Badung. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif terhadap 43 responden laki-laki yang mengkonsumsi minuman beralkohol dan berusia 20–75 tahun yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan pemeriksaan kadar asam urat menggunakan metode Point of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 23 responden (54%) memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi dan 20 responden (46%) normal. Berdasarkan usia, kadar asam urat tinggi terbanyak pada kelompok 45–60 tahun (28%). Kadar asam urat tinggi juga lebih banyak ditemukan pada responden dengan lama konsumsi >8 tahun (49%), frekuensi >4 kali per minggu (30%), jumlah konsumsi berat 2-4 botol/hari (28%), serta pada peminum alkohol golongan A (40%). Simpulan: Sebagian besar menunjukkan adanya kecenderungan peningkatan kadar asam urat pada peminum alkohol, terutama pada pola konsumsi tinggi dan jangka panjang. Kata kunci : hiperurisemia, alkohol
