Abstract

ABSTRACT The success of government programs in maternal health is assessed through the primary indicator of the maternal mortality rate. Health improvements are made through comprehensive and continuous maternity services that meet the expected standards, capable of preventing obstetric and neonatal complications. This report aims to evaluate the outcomes of care provided to mother “JA” from 21 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy to 42 days postpartum, along with the newborn care provided according to the standards. This study employs a case study approach with data collection techniques including interviews, examinations, observations, and documentation. The care was conducted from Oktober 2025, to March 31, 2026, at PMB Corriyati Yunus and Mother “JA”s' Home. The mother experienced a low-risk pregnancy and attended 11 antenatal visits, including integrated ANC check-ups with 12 tests, which encompassed ultrasound examinations and mental health screenings. Complaints of lower back pain were addressed with complementary care in the form of prenatal yoga, practiced independently by the mother. During labor, the care provided included maternal affection, complementary relaxation techniques with breathing regulation, and counterpressure massage to alleviate labor pain. In the postpartum period, complementary care included Kegel exercises and oxytocin massage, while the newborn received baby massage. The addition of evidence-based complementary care further enhanced the quality of service. Keywords: complementary, pregnancy, labor, postpartum, continuity of care
