Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP AMONG AGE, WORKING PERIOD AND THE USE OF EARPLUGS TOWARD SUBJECTIVE COMPLAIN OF THE WORKERS ABSTRACT Noise is included in one of the physical hazard factors in the working environment. Noise causes various disruption to the workers in which one of them is non-auditory effect disorder, such as physiological disorder, psychological disorder, and communication disorder. The purpose of this study was to know the relation between age, working period and the use of earplugs and subjective complaints of workers of natural stone industry in PekenBelayu Village, MargaSubdistrict, Tabanan Regency. The type of this study was observational research and using an interview with cross sectional approach. The data analysis in this research used Chi Square test (χ²).The results of this research analysis were 1). There was no relation between age and subjective complaints, as evidenced by p = 0.620 or (p> 0.05), 2). There was a relation between working period and subjective complaints, as evidenced by the value p = 0,025 or (p <0,05) with Coefficient Contingency that was 0,427 which meant medium category, There was a relation between the use of earplugs and subjective complain, it was proved by the value of p = 0,012 or (p<0,05) with Cofficient Contingency of 0,459 which meant strong category. Companies should control the noise by installing a border or silencer. Community Health Centre should work together with Department of Manpower to conduct a counseling about personal protective equipment in which it is earplugs. All workers have to wear earplugs. Keywords : Factor, Subjective complain, workers HUBUNGAN USIA, MASA KERJA DAN PENGGUNAAN SUMBAT TELINGA DENGAN KELUHAN SUBYEKTIF PEKERJA ABSTRAK Kebisingan merupakan salah satu faktor bahaya fisik di lingkungan kerja. Bising menyebabkan berbagai gangguan terhadap pekerja salah satunya yaitu gangguan non auditory effect, seperti gangguan fisiologis, gangguan psikologis, gangguan komunikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan usia, masa kerja dan penggunaan sumbat telinga dengan keluhan subyektif pekerja industri batu alam di Desa Peken Belayu, Kecamatan Marga, Kabupaten Tabanan. Jenis penelitian ini dengan metode penelitian observasi dan wawancara dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dengan uji Chi Square (χ²).Hasil analisis penelitian ini yaitu 1). Tidak ada hubungan antara usia dengan keluhan subyektif, dibuktikan dengan nilai p = 0,620 atau (p > 0,05), 2). Ada hubungan masa kerja dengan keluhan subyektif, dibuktikan dengan nilai p = 0,025 atau (p < 0,05) dengan Coefficient Contingency yaitu 0,427 yang artinya katagori sedang, 3). Ada hubungan penggunaan sumbat telinga dengan keluhan subyektif, ini dibuktikan dengan p = 0,012 atau (p < 0,05) dengan Coefficient Contingency yaitu 0,459 yang artinya kategori kuat.Perusahaan sebaiknya melakukan pengendalian kebisingan dengan memasang pembatas atau peredam suara. Puskesmas bekerja sama dengan Departemen Tenaga Kerja melakukan penyuluhan tentang alat pelindung diri yaitu penggunaan sumbat telinga.Kepada pekerja wajib menggunakan sumbat telinga.
