Abstract

ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF MELALUI TERAPI UAP DENGAN PEPPERMINT OIL PADA ANAK PNEUMONIA DI RUANG CILINAYA RSD MANGUSADA Komang Prasanti Trie Utami Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: [email protected] ABSTRAK Pneumonia pada anak masih menjadi masalah kesehatan yang sering ditemukan dan dapat menyebabkan gangguan bersihan jalan napas akibat akumulasi sekret. Kondisi ini memerlukan penatalaksanaan yang tidak hanya secara farmakologi, tetapi juga melalui terapi komplementer, salah satunya yaitu terapi uap dengan peppermint oil. Jumlah anak dengan pneumonia di RSD Mangusada pada bulan Januari tahun 2025 sebanyak 14 kasus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif melalui terapi uap dengan peppermint oil pada anak dengan pneumonia di Ruang Cilinaya RSD Mangusada. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada satu pasien anak dengan pneumonia. Berdasarkan hasil pengkajian didapatkan diagnosis bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif berhubungan dengan sekresi yang tertahan. Rencana keperawatan mengacu pada SLKI dengan luaran bersihan jalan napas meningkat dan SIKI dengan intervensi utama manajemen jalan napas dan pemantauan respirasi serta intervensi inovasi dengan terapi uap dengan peppermint oil diberikan 2 kali sehari selama 3 hari dengan durasi 10 menit. Hasil evaluasi keperawatan menunjukkan tujuan tercapai dan masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif teratasi. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan perawat dapat mengaplikasikan terapi uap dengan peppermint oil untuk mengatasi bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada anak pneumonia. Kata kunci: Pneumonia, Bersihan Jalan Napas, Peppermint Oil NURSING CARE FOR INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE THROUGH STEAM THERAPY WITH PEPPERMINT OIL IN CHILDREN WITH PNEUMONIA IN THE CILINAYA WARD RSD MANGUSADA ABSTRACT Pneumonia in children remains a common health problem and can cause ineffective airway clearance due to the accumulation of secretions. This condition requires management not only pharmacologically but also through complementary therapy, one of which is steam therapy with peppermint oil. The number of pediatric pneumonia cases at Mangusada Regional Hospital in January 2025 was 14 cases. This study aimed to describe nursing care for ineffective airway clearance through steam therapy with peppermint oil in children with pneumonia in the Cilinaya Ward of Mangusada Regional Hospital. The method used was descriptive with a case study approach on one pediatric patient with pneumonia. Based on the assessment, the nursing diagnosis was ineffective airway clearance related to retained secretions. The nursing plan referred to the Indonesian Nursing Outcomes Standards (SLKI) with the expected outcome of improved airway clearance and the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) with main interventions including airway management and respiratory monitoring, as well as an innovative intervention in the form of steam therapy with peppermint oil administered twice daily for three days with a duration of 10 minutes. The evaluation results showed that the goals were achieved and the problem of ineffective airway clearance was resolved. This study is expected to encourage nurses to apply steam therapy with peppermint oil to improve airway clearance in children with pneumonia. Keywords: Pneumonia, Airway Clearance, Peppermint Oil
