Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF ACUPRESSURE THERAPY TO IMPROVE SLEEP QUALITY Study Conducted in the Working Area of UPTD Kediri II Health Center in 2026 ABSTRACT Acute upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) are mostly mild, such as the common cold caused by viruses, and do not require treatment with antibiotics. The incidence of URTI in Indonesia reached 10,514,717 cases. Providing nursing care is an effort to manage URTI, ranging from assessment to evaluation, with the administration of a combination of acupressure therapy. This study aims to provide an overview of URTI nursing care with the administration of a combination of acupressure therapy in children. The research method used a descriptive case study approach. The assessment findings revealed that the child experienced a cough and runny nose for 2 to 3 days accompanied by fever, additional breath sounds (rales), difficulty coughing, restlessness, and altered respiratory rate, which caused the child difficulty sleeping. Based on the assessment data, the established nursing diagnosis was ineffective airway clearance related to retained secretions. The nursing plan included the primary intervention of effective coughing exercises and the adjunctive intervention of acupressure therapy. The nursing care provided consisted of a combination of acupressure therapy. The evaluation following the implementation of nursing care over three 60-minute visits indicated that the issue of ineffective airway clearance was resolved. The conclusion is that the administration of a combination of acupressure therapy can reduce complaints of ineffective airway clearance, and it is recommended that parents and the community apply this therapy if a child experiences a cough or cold. Keywords: Children, URTIs, Acupressure ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA ANAK DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF MELALUI PENERAPAN TERAPI AKUPRESUR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS TIDUR Studi Dilakukan Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kediri II Tahun 2026 I Made Andre Pinartayana Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email : [email protected] ABSTRAK Infeksi saluran pernapasan atas akut atau Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTIs) sebagian besar hanya bersifat ringan seperti batuk pilek yang disebabkan oleh virus, dan tidak memerlukan pengobatan dengan antibiotic. Angka kejadian ISPA di Indonesia mencapai 10.514.717 kasus. Memberikan asuhan keperawatan adalah suatu upaya untuk menangani ISPA yang dimulai dari pengkajian sampai evaluasi dengan pemberian kombinasi terapi akupresur. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan gambaran asuhan keperawatan ISPA dengan pemberian kombinasi terapi akupresur pada anak. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif pendekatan Studi Kasus. Hasil pengkajian diperoleh meliputi anak mengalami batuk pilek 2 sampai 3 hari disertai demam, terdapat suara napas tambahan (ronki), sulit untuk batuk, gelisah, frekuensi napas berubah sehingga menyebabkan anak kesulitan untuk tidur. Melalui data pengkajian diagnosis keperawatan yang ditegakan yaitu bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif berhubungan dengan sekresi yang tertahan. Rencana keperawatan meliputi intervensi utama yaitu latihan batuk efektif dan intervensi pendamping yaitu terapi akupresur. Implementasi keperawatan yang diberikan adalah kombinasi pemberian terapi akupresur. Evaluasi yang didapatkan setelah pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan selama 3 kali kunjungan selama 60 menit yaitu masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif teratasi. Kesimpulan dari pemberian kombinasi terapi akupresur dapat menurunkan keluhan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif dan saran untuk orang tua maupun masyarakat dapat menerapkan terapi ini apabila anak mengalami batuk pilek Kata kunci : Anak, ISPA, Akupresur
