Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR AN. R WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE DUE TO PNEUMONIA IN THE PICU NICU ROOM AT SANJIWANI GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2026 ABSTRACT Pneumonia is an acute infection of the lungs characterized by fever, cough, and shortness of breath. One of the main problems is ineffective airway cleaning due to secretion accumulation. The purpose of this case report is to provide nursing care to pediatric patients with ineffective airway cleaning due to pneumonia in the PICU/NICU room of Sanjiwani Hospital. The method used was a descriptive case study of An.R, an 8-year-old male with a medical diagnosis of pneumonia. The results of the study showed that the main complaint was cough with phlegm. The nursing diagnosis that was enforced was that airway cleaning was ineffective. The interventions provided were effective cough exercises, airway management, and the administration of inhalation drugs. Nursing implementation was carried out for 4 days with the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the evaluation showed that the improvement in the patient's condition was characterized by increased effective cough, reduced sputum production, decreased ronkhi, reduced tightness, decreased restlessness, and improved breathing frequency. It was concluded that the nursing interventions provided were effective in overcoming the problem of airway clearance and were not effective in pneumonia patients. Suggestions for nurses are expected to increase education to parents about the early treatment of pneumonia at home, and for parents are expected to be more vigilant in monitoring the condition of children and the environment to prevent the occurrence of pneumonia. Keywords: Nursing Care, Airway Cleaning, Pneumonia ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA AN.R DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF AKIBAT PNEUMONIA DI RUANG PICU NICU RSUD SANJIWANI TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Pneumonia merupakan infeksi akut pada paru yang ditandai dengan demam, batuk, dan sesak napas. Salah satu masalah utamanya adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat akumulasi sekret. Tujuan laporan kasus ini untuk memberikan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien anak dengan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat pneumonia diruang PICU/NICU RSUD Sanjiwani. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus deskriptif terhadap An.R, laki-laki usia 8 tahun dengan diagnosis medis pneumonia. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan keluhan utama berupa batuk berdahak. Diagnosis keperawatan yang ditegakkan adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif. Intervensi yang diberikan latihan batuk efektif, manajemen jalan napas, serta pemberian obat inhalasi. Implementasi keperawatan dilakukan selama 4 hari dengan proses keperawatan meliputi pengkajian, diagnosis, perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan kondisi pasien ditandai dengan batuk efektif meningkat, berkurangnya produksi sputum, menurunnya ronkhi, berkurangnya sesak, gelisah menurun, frekuensi napas membaik. Disimpulkan bahwa intervensi keperawatan yang diberikan efektif dalam mengatasi masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada pasien pneumonia. Saran bagi perawat diharapkan meningkatkan edukasi kepada orang tua mengenai penanganan awal pneumonia dirumah, dan bagi orang tua diharapkan lebih waspada dalam memantau keadaan anak dan lingkungan untuk mencegah terjadinya pneumonia.
