Abstract

Continuous care for Mrs. “MM” was combined with complementary care to achieve optimal outcomes, improve comfort, and minimize complaints. This study used a case study method with primary and secondary data collected through interviews, examinations, observations, and documentation. Care was provided from September 2025 to March 2026. Mrs. “MM” experienced a physiological pregnancy; however, antenatal care did not fully meet the 12T standard because laboratory examinations were not performed in the first trimester but in the second trimester, and mental health screening was not conducted in the first trimester. Complementary care during pregnancy included brain booster, pregnancy exercise, and warm ginger compresses. Labor occurred vaginally, progressed physiologically, and was free from complications. Complementary care during labor included counterpressure massage, lavender aromatherapy, and deep-breathing relaxation, allowing the mother to undergo labor comfortably. The baby cried immediately after birth, had active muscle tone, reddish skin color, and a birth weight of 3000 grams. During the postpartum period, observations of the postpartum triad and psychological adaptation remained physiological without complications. Complementary care during postpartum included Kegel exercises, oxytocin massage, and postpartum exercise, while infant massage was provided for the baby. The implementation of Continuity of Care midwifery services is expected to minimize possible complications during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and the newborn period
