Abstract
The duration of use of 3-month injectable contraceptives can cause menstrual disorders. This incident is influenced by the gestagen component because the gestagen component in 3-month injectable contraceptives causes amenorrhea, which is shorter and less frequent menstruation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the duration of use and menstrual cycle disorders. This study used a qualitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 110. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using the Chi Square test. The results showed that the majority of 3-month injectable contraceptive acceptors, as many as 89 respondents (80.9%), experienced menstrual cycle disorders and those with a duration of use of injectable contraceptives > 2.5 years experienced menstrual cycle disorders as many as 61 respondents (55.45%). The results of the Chi Square test obtained a p-value of 0.000. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the duration of use of injectable contraceptives and menstrual cycle disorders in 3-month injectable contraceptive acceptors in the Kubutambahan II Community Health Center area.
