Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND THE INCIDENCE OF ISPA IN TODDLERS IN PAGESANGAN VILLAGE, MATARAM DISTRICT, MATARAM CITY YEAR 2025 ABSTRACK Acute respiratory infections are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality due to infectious diseases in the world. Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARIs) still make a significant contribution to morbidity and mortality in infants and toddlers, and to date the disease remains a major public health problem, both in developed and developing countries. Method: Quantitative research type. The population in this study is mothers who have toddlers aged 0-59 months who are in the Pagesangan Village, Mataram District, Mataram City. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The test was carried out with Chi squere Results: It is known that the risk factors related to the incidence of Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARIs) in toddlers in Pagesangan Village, Mataram District, Mataram City in 2025, namely ventilation, occupancy density, and air humidity, respectively with values ({ p- value 0.001}, { p- value 0.000}, { p- value 0.000 }) and risk factors that are not related to the incidence of Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARIs) in toddlers in Pagesangan Village, Mataram District, Mataram City in 2025, namely: the walls and floors of the house each with a value ({ p- value 0.285}, { p- value 0.062}). Suggestions are expected to increase knowledge by conducting education in the form of counseling related to environmental factors related to the incidence of ISPA in toddlers and being able to find solutions from the physical environment of the home that affect the incidence of Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARIs). Keywords: Environmental Factors, Incidence of Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARIs) ABSTRAK Infeksi saluran pernapasan akut merupakan penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas akibat penyakit menular di dunia. Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) masih memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap morbiditas dan mortalitas pada bayi dan balita, dan hingga saat ini penyakit ini tetap menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat utama, baik di negara maju maupun berkembang. Metode: Jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu-ibu yang memiliki balita usia 0-59 bulan yang berada di Desa Pagesangan, Kecamatan Mataram, Kota Mataram. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan pengambilan sampel acak sederhana. Pengujian dilakukan dengan Hasil Chi square: Diketahui bahwa faktor risiko terkait kejadian ISPA pada balita di Desa Pagesangan, Kecamatan Mataram, Kota Mataram pada tahun 2025, yaitu ventilasi, kepadatan hunian, dan kelembaban udara, masing-masing dengan nilai ({ p- value 0,001}, { p- value 0,000}, { p- value 0,000}) dan faktor risiko yang tidak terkait dengan kejadian ISPA pada balita di Desa Pagesangan, Kecamatan Mataram, Kota Mataram tahun 2025, yaitu: dinding dan lantai rumah masing-masing dengan nilai ({ p- value 0,285}, { p- value 0,062}). Saran diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dengan melakukan edukasi berupa penyuluhan terkait faktor lingkungan terkait kejadian ISPA pada balita dan mampu menemukan solusi dari lingkungan fisik rumah yang mempengaruhi kejadian ISPA.
