Abstract

PENGARUH WAKTU DAN DOSIS PENGGUNAAN EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISMS 4 (EM-4 ) TERHADAP KUALITAS KOMPOS DARI SAMPAH ORGANIK ABSTRAKS Dusun Lepak desa Lepak Kecamatan Sakra Timur karena kondisi lingkungannya yang kumuh, tidak adanya pengolahan sampah, lokasi pembuangan sampahnya yang jauh sedangkan sampah yang dihasilkan mencapai 1,8 m3/hari. Masyarakat cenderung untuk menimbun semua jenis sampah baik yang berupa sampah organik maupun anorganik. Hal ini cukup riskan mengingat sebenarnya sampah tersebut masih dapat dimanfaatkan, sesuai dengan kebijakan mengurangi, memanfaatkan kembali, mendaur ulang serta memanfaatkan energi sampah. Bertolak dari masalah tersebut di atas, pengomposan dengan bantuan Effective microorganisms (EM-4) merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk mengolah limbah padat tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu dan dosis penggunaan Effective microorganisms (EM-4) terhadap kualitas kompos di Dusun Lepak Desa Lepak Kecamatan Sakra Timur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi waktu 7 hari dan 14 dengan variasi dosis EM4 50 ml, 100 ml, 150 ml. Hasil analisis menunujukkan bahwa : ada pengaruh yang siginifikan antara waktu pembuatan kompos terhadap kualitas kompos dengan nilai Asyimp. Sig sebesar ,000 < 0,05. Sedangkan penggunaan dosis larutan EM4 tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kualitas kompos dengan nilai Asymp. Sig sebesar 0,175 > 0,05. Kata kunci : Effective microorganisms (EM-4), Waktu Pengomposan, dan Dosis THE EFFECT OF TIME AND DOSAGE OF USING EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISMS 4 (EM-4) ON THE QUALITY OF COMPOST FROM ORGANIC WASTE ABSTRACT Lepak Hamlet, Lepak Village, East Sakra District, due to its slum environment, lack of waste processing, and remote waste disposal sites, while the waste produced reaches 1.8 m3/day. People tend to pile up all types of waste, both organic and inorganic. This is quite risky considering that the waste can actually still be utilized, in accordance with the policy of reducing, reusing, recycling, and utilizing waste energy. Based on the above problems, composting with the help of Effective microorganisms (EM-4) is an alternative to process solid waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of time and dosage of Effective microorganisms (EM-4) on the quality of compost in Lepak Hamlet, Lepak Village, East Sakra District. The research method used was qualitative experimental research. This study used time variations of 7 days and 14 days with variations in EM4 dosages of 50 ml, 100 ml, and 150 ml. The results of the analysis showed that: there was a significant influence between the time of composting on the quality of compost with the Asyimp value. Sig. is 0.000 < 0.05. Meanwhile, the use of EM4 solution dosage has no significant effect on compost quality with an Asymp. Sig. value of 0.175 > 0.05.
