Abstract

LEVEL OF ORAL AND HEALTH KNOWLEDGE AMONG HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS BEFORE AND AFTER EDUCATIONUSING POSTER MEDIA AT PUSKESMAS II DENPASAR BARAT IN 2025 ABSTRACT Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high prevalence that can cause systemic complications, including periodontal disease. Awareness of the importance of maintaining oral and dental health among individuals with hypertension remains relatively low. This study aims to assess the level of knowledge among hypertensive patients before and after receiving educational intervention using posters at Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat in 2025. This research employed a descriptive method with a pre-test and post-test approach. A total sample of 40 participants was selected using accidental sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions and a poster as the educational medium. The results showed that before the intervention, the majority of respondents were in the fair category (78%) with an average score of 66.4. After the intervention, most respondents improved to the good category (92%) with an average score of 88.6. The conclusion of this study indicates an increase in knowledge after the educational intervention using posters. Keywords: Knowledge, Hypertension, Dental and Oral Health Education TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT PENDERITA HIPERTENSI SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH DIBERIKAN PENYULUHAN DENGAN MEDIA POSTER DI PUSKESMAS II BARAT TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Hipertensi merupakan penyakit tidak menular dengan prevalensi tinggi yang dapat menimbulkan komplikasi sistemik, termasuk penyakit periodontal. Pengetahuan tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada penderita hipertensi masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan penderita hipertensi sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan menggunakan media poster di Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat tahun 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan pre-test dan post-test. Sampel sebanyak 40 orang dipilih dengan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner berisi 20 pertanyaan dan media poster sebagai media penyuluhan. Hasil menunjukkan sebelum penyuluhan, sebagian besar responden penderita hipertensi berada pada kategori cukup (78%) dengan rata-rata nilai 66,4. Setelah penyuluhan, mayoritas responden penderita hipertensi meningkat ke kategori baik (92%) dengan rata-rata nilai 88,6 (baik). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan setelah penyuluhan dengan media poster. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, Hipertensi, Penyuluhan Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut
