Abstract

Breast milk is the best nutrition for babies, especially at the age of 0 to 6 months. Exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by internal and external factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between husband's support and mother's perception of exclusive breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding. The type of correlation analytic research with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted in February - April 2025, the population was 120 mothers who had children aged 6-12 months and the number of samples was 63 people. The sampling technique was Purposive Sampling according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data collection method was with a research questionnaire related to husband's support and mother's perception, as well as interviews related to exclusive breastfeeding. Bivariate analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results of the study showed that 42 people (66.7%) provided good support for mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding, 35 people (55.6%) had negative perceptions about exclusive breastfeeding, 39 people (61.9%) mothers provided exclusive breastfeeding, and there was a significant relationship between husband's support and mother's perception of exclusive breastfeeding (p value 0.000). Midwives are expected to provide information regarding the importance of providing exclusive breastfeeding from the time of pregnancy so that pregnant women can prepare themselves when their babies are born.
