Abstract

Abstract. Breathing technique ia a non-pharmacological techniqueswhich used to recude pain, especially in labor. This research aimed to determine the differences between child-birth mothers groups who do yoga breathing techniques with other group which mothers used breathing techniques conventional. This research was pre-experimental type static group comparison. Population in this study was all women that giving birth in the health center Dauh Puri. Midwifery clinic GW and GT, 2014. Sampling with consecutive sampling technique. The number of samplex that me the inclusion criteria was 32respondents, 16 treatment group and 16 control group. The result of the data by normality data test shows the first stage of labar pains active phase of the opening> 10 cm and 8 cm, not normal so analyzed using Test Man whiteney. The result of the analysis found significant differences in labor pain on opening> 8cm-10cm (0.016), duration of the active phase of the first stage (0.001), while the length of second stage analysis showed no significant difference (0.611) between the treatment and control groups. The results of the analysis using T test, found no significant difference (0.871) at the opening af labor pain 4cm-8cm between the treatment groups and the contrl groups. The result showed the breath effect on pain and duration of first stage labor. Keywords : breathing technique, labor pain.
