Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SANITATION HYGIEN AND THE PHYSICAL QUALITY OF REFILL WATER IN THE WORKING AREA OF UPTD PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR BARAT IN 2025 ABSTRACT The availability of safe drinking water is very important for public health, but the physical quality of water from refillable drinking water depots (DAMIU) is still a concern, especially related to hygiene and sanitation conditions. This study aims to determine the relationship between hygiene and sanitation with the physical quality of refill drinking water in the work area of UPTD Puskesmas I West Denpasar in 2025. The method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach and techniques of observation, interview, and laboratory examination of 40 DAMIUs. The results showed that 80% of DAMIUs met the sanitary hygiene requirements and 95% met the physical water quality requirements. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between sanitary hygiene and physical water quality (p = 0.006) with moderate relationship strength (CC = 0.070). The conclusion of this study is that the better the hygiene and sanitation conditions of the DAMIU, the more likely the drinking water produced has an acceptable physical quality. Keywords: Sanitation Hygiene, Physical Quality of Water, Depot HUBUNGAN HYGIENE SANITASI DENGAN KUALITAS FISIK AIR ISI ULANG DI WILAYAH KERJA UPTD PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR BARAT TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Ketersediaan air minum yang aman sangat penting untuk kesehatan masyarakat, namun kualitas fisik air dari depot air minum isi ulang (DAMIU) masih menjadi perhatian, terutama terkait kondisi hygiene dan sanitasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara hygiene sanitasi dengan kualitas fisik air minum isi ulang di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat Tahun 2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dan teknik observasi, wawancara, serta pemeriksaan laboratorium terhadap 40 DAMIU. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 80% DAMIU memenuhi syarat hygiene sanitasi dan 95% memenuhi syarat kualitas fisik air. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara hygiene sanitasi dan kualitas fisik air (p = 0,006) dengan kekuatan hubungan sedang (CC = 0,070). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah semakin baik kondisi hygiene dan sanitasi DAMIU, maka semakin besar kemungkinan air minum yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas fisik yang memenuhi syarat.
