Abstract

MIDWIFERY CARE FOR MOTHER "MS" 27 YEARS OLD PRIMIGRAVIDA FROM 20 WEEKS OF GESTATION TO 42 DAYS POSTPARTUM ABSTRACT Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period were critical phases requiring continuous care to prevent complications. This case study aimed at evaluating the Continuity of Care (CoC) provided to a 27-year-old primigravida mother, “MS,” from 20 weeks of pregnancy to 42 days postpartum. Data were collected through interviews, examinations, observations, and documentation from October 2024 to April 2025. The pregnancy proceeded physiologically and met the minimum standard of six visits, with 12 antenatal care (ANC) sessions provided in accordance with the standardized 12T integrated ANC approach. Complementary care included prenatal yoga, brain booster activities, and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy. The mother delivered vaginally without complications, and both labor and newborn care were conducted according to the Standard Care for Normal Childbirth (APN), along with complementary care such as breathing relaxation and acupressure. During the postpartum period, care was provided according to KF1 to KF4 standards. Uterine involution, lochia discharge, lactation, and psychological adaptation occurred physiologically. Complementary postpartum care included Kegel exercises, oxytocin massage, and breast milk boosters. The infant’s growth and development progressed physiologically, with care provided in accordance with the KN1 to KN3 standards. Screening for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and Congenital Hypothyroidism (CH) was conducted, along with complementary care in the form of infant massage accompanied by Mozart classical music. Midwives were expected to provide care that was standardized, comprehensive, and continuous, based on evidence-based practices and local cultural values, while safely implementing complementary care for both mothers and infants.
