Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HEALTHY LIFESTYLE BEHAVIOR AND THE INCIDENCE OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS IN THE WORKING AREA OF COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER I WEST DENPASAR BARAT IN 2025 ABSTRACT Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious global health problem with a high incidence rate. Healthy lifestyle behavior plays an important role in preventing and controlling TB. This study aimed to determine the relationship between healthy lifestyle behavior and the incidence of pulmonary TB in the working area of Community Health Center I West Denpasar in 2025. The research used a case-control design with a retrospective and observational approach. A total of 110 respondents were selected, consisting of 55 cases and 55 controls. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation, and analyzed using the Chi-square test and Odds Ratio. The results showed a significant relationship between healthy lifestyle behavior and the incidence of pulmonary TB (p < 0.001). Among respondents with unhealthy lifestyles, 90.7% were in the case group, while 89.3% of those with healthy lifestyles were in the control group. The contingency coefficient value was 0.625, indicating a strong association. The odds ratio of 81.667 suggests that individuals with unhealthy lifestyle behavior are 81 times more likely to develop pulmonary TB. Improving public knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding a healthy lifestyle is essential to reduce TB cases. Perilaku hidup sehat memegang peranan penting dalam pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku hidup sehat dengan kejadian TBC paru di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat tahun 2025. Penelitian menggunakan desain case-control dengan pendekatan retrospektif dan bersifat observasional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 110 orang, terdiri dari 55 kasus dan 55 kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan observasi, lalu dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-square dan perhitungan Odds Ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara perilaku hidup sehat dengan kejadian TBC paru (p < 0,001). Sebagian besar responden dengan perilaku hidup tidak sehat berada dalam kelompok kasus (90,7%), sedangkan responden dengan perilaku hidup sehat berada dalam kelompok kontrol (89,3%). Nilai koefisien kontingensi sebesar 0,625 menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat, dan odds ratio sebesar 81,667 menunjukkan bahwa perilaku hidup tidak sehat meningkatkan risiko terkena TBC paru secara signifikan. Edukasi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan perilaku hidup sehat sangat diperlukan guna menurunkan angka kejadian TBC paru. Kata kunci : Perilaku Hidup Sehat, Tuberkulosis Paru
