Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS DURING PALM WINE DRINKERS IN JINENGDALEM VILLAGE BULELENG DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Tuak is a traditional alcoholic beverage consumed in rural areas as part of a tradition. Excessive consumption can increase blood glucose levels due to the alcohol and carbohydrate content, thus increasing the risk of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Objective: To determine the description of random blood glucose levels in alcoholic beverage drinkers of tuak in Jinengdalem Village, Buleleng District. Method: The method used in this study is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach involving 43 respondents through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews, filling out questionnaires, and measuring random blood glucose levels using a POCT device. Results: The results of the study of random blood glucose levels showed that 88.4% of respondents were in the normal category, 11.6% of respondents were in the high category, and 0.0% of respondents were in the low category. Based on the characteristics, 25.6% of respondents were in the age category (19-25 years), 88.4% were in the category of 1-2 years of tuak consumption, and 55.8% were in the category of light consumption. Conclusion: The description of random blood glucose levels in palm wine drinkers in Jinengdalem Village, Buleleng District, most of them have normal random blood glucose levels (88.4%). Keywords: Blood Glucose Levels, Tuak Drinkers GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA PEMINUM TUAK DI DESA JINENGDALEM KECAMATAN BULELENG ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Tuak adalah minuman tradisional beralkohol yang dikonsumsi diwilayah pedesaan sebagai bagian dari tradisi dan upacara keagamaan. Konsumsi berlebihan dapat meningkatkan kadar glukosa darah karena kandungan alkohol dan karbohidrat, sehingga berisiko Diabetes Melitus (DM). Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada peminum minuman beralkohol tuak di Desa Jinengdalem, Kecamatan Buleleng. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode pendekatan cross sectional yang melibatkan 43 responden yang di dapatkan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara,pengisan kuisioner, serta pengukuran kadar glukosa darah sewaktu megngunakan alat POCT. Hasil: Hasil penelitian kadar glukosa darah sewaktu menunjukkan 88.4% responden dengan kategori normal, 11.6% responden kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan karakteristik menunjukkan 25.6% responden merupakan kategori usia (19-25 tahun), 88.4% kategori lama konsumsi tuak 1-2 tahun, dan 55.8% kategori jumlah konsumsi ringan. Kesimpulan: Gambaran kadar glukosa darah seaktu pada peminum tuak di Desa Jinengdalem Kecamatan Buleleng sebagian besar memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu normal yaitu (88,4%).
