Abstract

ABSTRACT One of effort to improve knowledge, attitude and skill of mother about kangguru care, it can be conducted with many manner, one of them is coaching method. This study aims to find out the benefit of coaching method toward improvement of skill of kangaroo care at the mother’s low birth wegith infant in perinantology room of Badung hospital. This study was one group pre test and post test design. Population at this study were all mother who have low birth weight infant at perinatology room of Badung hospital by number of sample were 40 people by using accidental sampling. Hypotesis at this study with wilcoxon test, the mean of skill before given coaching method was 32,67. Mean of skill after given coaching method was 71,25. Statistic value obtained p=0,00 its mean there was significant benefit between coaching method toward improvement of skill of kangaroo care at mother’s low birth weight infant in perinatology (p=0,00). The researcher recommend the midwifery in Badung hospital should adopt coaching method in health promotion program. Keywords: coaching, benefits, skills
