Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF SERUM CREATININE LEVELS IN ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH HYPERTENSION AT PUSKESMAS I WEST DENPASAR ABSTRACT Background: Uncontrolled long-term hypertension can lead to damage of the kidney nephrons. This condition triggers an increase in serum creatinine levels, which is an indicator of declining kidney function and increases the risk of chronic kidney failure. Objective: to describe the serum creatinine levels among elderly patients with hypertension. Method: his descriptive study was conducted at Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat during March–April 2025. The study population consisted of elderly individuals with hypertension. A total of 38 respondents were selected using accidental sampling. Serum creatinine levels were measured using the Biosystem BA200 device. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: The respondents' ages were evenly distributed between 60–69 years and over 70 years (50% each), with the majority being female (82%). About 42% had a normal body weight and another 42% were obese. A total of 55.3% had no family history of hypertension, 58% had been diagnosed with hypertension for 1–5 years, and 76% were compliant with their medication. Normal serum creatinine levels were found in 65.8% of respondents, high levels in 31.6%, and low levels in 2.6%. Conclusion: Most elderly patients with hypertension had normal serum creatinine levels, although elevated levels were still present. Routine monitoring and a healthy lifestyle are important to prevent kidney complications. Keywords: Serum creatinine, Elderly, Hypertension. GAMBARAN KADAR KREATININ SERUM PADA LANSIA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR BARAT ABSTRAK Latar belakang: hipertensi yang tidak terkontrol dalam jangka panjang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada nefron ginjal. Hal ini memicu peningkatan kadar kreatinin serum sebagai tanda penurunan fungsi ginjal, yang berisiko menyebabkan gagal ginjal kronis.Tujuan: mengetahui gambaran kadar kreatinin serum pada lansia penderita hipertensi.Metode: penelitian deskriptif ini dilaksanakan di Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat pada Maret-April 2025. Populasi penelitian adalah lansia penderita hipertensi, dengan 38 sampel diambil menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Pemeriksaan kreatinin serum menggunakan alat Biosystem BA200. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: usia responden terbagi rata antara 60–69 tahun dan >70 tahun (masing-masing 50%), mayoritas perempuan (82%). Sebanyak 42% memiliki berat badan normal, 42% obesitas. Sebanyak 55,3% tidak memiliki riwayat keluarga hipertensi, 58% mengalami hipertensi selama 1–5 tahun, dan 76% patuh minum obat. Kadar kreatinin serum normal ditemukan pada 65,8%, tinggi pada 31,6%, dan rendah pada 2,6% responden. Simpulan: mayoritas lansia hipertensi memiliki kadar kreatinin normal, namun peningkatan tetap ada. Pemantauan rutin dan pola hidup sehat penting untuk mencegah komplikasi ginjal.
