Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HEALTH LOCUS OF CONTROL AND SOCIAL INTERACTION IN BREAST CANCER PATIENTS UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPY AT BALI MANDARA REGIONAL HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Breast cancer is a type of cancer that occurs when abnormal cells develop in the breast tissue. Prevention of complications is carried out through therapies such as surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. The impact of therapy includes a decrease in body image and physical changes. Efforts to enhance social interaction include health locus of control, which means a person's belief about how much control they have over their health. This study aims to determine the relationship between Health Locus of Control and Social Interaction in Breast Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy at Bali Mandara Regional Hospital. This type of research is quantitative research with an analytical correlational research design and a cross-sectional approach. The sampling was conducted using purposive sampling technique with a sample of 62 individuals. Data collection was done using a questionnaire Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scales (MHLC) dan Index Social Interaction (ISI). The results of the research on health locus of control were mostly categorized as high, with 36 people (58,1%), and the results of the social interaction research were mostly categorized as moderate, with 40 people (64,5%). There is a significant relationship with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and an r value of 0.634 between health locus of control and social interaction in breast cancer patients. The higher the health locus of control in breast cancer patients, the higher the social interaction. Keywords : health locus of control, social interaction, breast cancer, chemotherapy. HUBUNGAN HEALTH LOCUS OF CONTROL DENGAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL PADA PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA SAAT MENJALANI KEMOTERAPI DI RSUD BALI MANDARA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Kanker payudara adalah jenis kanker yang terjadi ketika sel-sel abnormal berkembang di jaringan payudara. Pencegahan komplikasi dilakukan terapi seperti pembedahan, radiasi dan kemoterapi. Dampak terapi yaitu penurunan citra tubuh dan perubahan fisik. Upaya meningkatkan interaksi sosial yaitu health locus of control yang artinya keyakinan seseorang tentang seberapa besar kontrol yang dimiliki atas kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Health Locus of Control Dengan Interaksi Sosial Pada Pasien Kanker Payudara Saat Menjalani Kemoterapi Di RSUD Bali Mandara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian analitik korelasional dan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan sampel 62 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scales (MHLC) dan Index Social Interaction (ISI). Hasil penelitian health locus of control sebagian besar dikategori tinggi sebanyak 36 orang (58,1%) dan hasil penelitian interaksi sosial sebagian besar dikategori sedang sebanyak 40 orang (64,5%). Ada hubungan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) dan nilai r = 0,634 antara health locus of control dan interaksi sosial pada pasien kanker payudara. Semakin tinggi health locus of control pada pasien kanker payudara, maka interaksi sosial juga semakin tinggi. Kata kunci : health locus of control, interaksi sosial, kanker payudara, kemoterapi
