Abstract

DIFFERENCE IN DIABETIC ULCER HEALING BEFORE AND AFTER USING MODERN WOUND DRESSING IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN DHALIA CARE WEST DENPASAR ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus or hyperglycemia is a medical condition in the form of increased blood glucose levels that exceed normal values and is characteristic of several diseases. One of the complications that occurs due to diabetes mellitus is diabetic ulcers or damage to skin integrity. Wound care with modern dressings, which maintain wound moisture, has been shown to accelerate the healing process in people with diabetes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in wound healing before and after the use of modern wound dressings on the healing of diabetic ulcers in people with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is a quantitative study and only intervenes in groups without a comparison group, and uses statistics with the results of research data using the pre and post test without control type of research. This study was conducted at Dhalia Care located in West Denpasar, Denpasar City with a sample size of 22 respondents and a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study based on the Wilcoxon signed rank test statistical test, obtained a significant value of p = 0.000, the test results showed that p <0.05, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a difference in healing of diabetic ulcers before and after the use of modern wound dressings in patients with diabetes mellitus at Dhalia Care West Denpasar. Keywords: Diabetic ulcers, modern dressings, diabetes mellitus PERBEDAAN PENYEMBUHAN ULKUS DIABETIKUM SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH PENGGUNAAN MODERN WOUND DRESSING PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS DI DHALIA CARE DENPASAR BARAT ABSTRAK Diabetes mellitus atau hiperglikemia merupakan keadaan medis berupa peningkatan kadar glukosa dalam darah yang melebihi nilai normal dan menjadi karakteristik beberapa penyakit. Salah satu komplikasi yang terjadi akibat diabetes mellitus adalah ulkus diabetikum atau kerusakan integritas kulit. Perawatan luka dengan dressing modern, yang mempertahankan kelembapan luka. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan penyembuhan luka sebelum dan sesudah pengguaan modern wound dressing terhadap penyembuhan ulkus diabetikum pada penderita diabetes mellitus. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan intervensi pada kelompok tanpa kelompok pembanding, dan menggunakan statistik dengan hasil data penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian pre and post test without control. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dhalia Care yang berada di daerah Denpasar Barat, Kota Denpasar dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 22 responden dan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji statistik Wilcoxon signed rank test, diperoleh nilai signifikan p = 0.000 hasil uji tersebut menujukkan bahwa p < 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan H0 ditolak. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan penyembuhan ulkus diabetikum sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan modern wound dressing pada penderita diabetes mellitus di Dhalia Care Denpasar Barat.
