Abstract

NURSING CARE RISKS OF FALLS WITH SENSAAMATTO (MATTRESS SENSOR) IN THE ELDERLY AT MIHARASOU SPECIAL NURSING HOME OSAKA, JAPAN IN 2024 I Gusti Ayu Agung Purnama Dewi Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: purnamaadewi22@gmail.com ABSTRACT The elderly are the final phase of human development and are highly vulnerable to various health problems due to the aging process, such as the risk of falls. Fall risk is a condition in which a person has an increased potential to experience a falling incident, which can cause physical injury. One of the tools that can be used to prevent falls is sensaamatto. Research by Subermaniam, et al. (2017) states this tool is effective for reducing the incidence of falls. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nursing care for the risk of falling with sensaamatto in the elderly at Miharasou Special Nursing Home. The method of preparation uses a case study design. Assessment was carried out on 2 patients (Mrs.I and Mr.A) with complaints of weakness in the lower extremities. The nursing diagnosis is the risk of falling as evidenced by age ≥ 65 years, a history of falls, changes in cognitive function, and decreased muscle strength. The interventions given are fall prevention and sensaamatto. Implementation was carried out for 3 days by installing sensaamatto and observing whether there was a fall after installation. The evaluation results showed that there were no falls in the patient. The conclusion obtained is that sensaamatto is effective for preventing falls in elderly patients with a risk of falling so it is hoped that periodically evaluate and update the technology so that it remains relevant and functions optimally in detecting fall risk.. Risiko jatuh adalah kondisi di mana seseorang memiliki potensi yang meningkat untuk mengalami insiden jatuh, yang dapat menyebabkan cedera fisik. Salah satu alat yang dapat digunakan untuk mencegah kejadian jatuh adalah sensaamatto. Penelitian Subermaniam, et al. (2017) menyatakan alat ini efektif untuk mengurangi kejadian jatuh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran asuhan keperawatan risiko jatuh dengan sensaamatto pada lansia di Panti Jompo Khusus Miharasou. Metode penyusunan menggunakan rancangan studi kasus. Pengkajian dilakukan pada 2 orang pasien (Ny.I dan Tn.A) dengan keluhan lemah pada ekstremitas bawah. Diagnosis keperawatan yaitu risiko jatuh dibuktikan dengan usia ≥ 65 tahun, riwayat jatuh, perubahan fungsi kognitif, dan kekuatan otot menurun. Intervensi yang diberikan adalah pencegahan jatuh serta sensaamatto. Implementasi dilakukan selama 3 hari dengan melakukan pemasangan sensaamatto dan diobservasi apakah ada kejadian jatuh setelah pemasangan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan tidak ada kejadian jatuh pada pasien. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu sensaamatto efektif untuk mencegah kejadian jatuh pada pasien lansia dengan risiko jatuh sehingga diharapkan untuk melakukan evaluasi dan perbarui teknologi secara berkala agar tetap relevan dan berfungsi optimal dalam mendeteksi risiko jatuh.
