Abstract

One of the most commonly affected infectious diseases in toddlers is ARI. Lack of awareness of parents, especially mothers of toddlers, there is a clean and healthy living behavior and pay attention to the nutrition of their toddlers is thought to trigger ARI. In 2018, ARI in toddlers was ranked first of the top ten infectious diseases in Indonesia with an incidence rate ranging from 25-30% (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). This study aims to determine the relationship between the behavior of toddler mothers and the physical environment with the incidence of ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) in toddlers in Geluntung Village, the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Marga I in 2024. This study used a sample of 48 samples of mothers under five. This type of research uses analytical quantitative with a cross-sectional design approach. The results of statistical tests with chi-square tests between the behavior of mothers of toddlers with the incidence of ARI obtained an sig value of 0.015 (p < 0.05). The results of statistical tests with chi-square tests between the physical environment and the incidence of ARI obtained an sig value of 0.017 (p < 0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the behavior of mothers under five with the incidence of ARI, and there is a significant relationship between the physical environment and the incidence of ARI. It is recommended for mothers of toddlers to improve good behavior by participating in health counseling conducted by health workers, or other information media. Salah satu penyakit infeksi yang paling sering terkena pada balita yaitu ISPA. Kurangnya kesadaran orang tua khususnya ibu balita terdapat perilaku hidup bersih dah sehat dan memperhatikan gizi anak balitanya diduga dapat memicu terkena penyakit ISPA. Di tahun 2018, ISPA pada balita menduduki peringkat pertama dari sepuluh besar penyakit menular di Indonesia dengan angka kejadian berkisar 25-30% (Kemenkes RI, 2018). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku ibu balita dan lingkungan fisik dengan kejadian ISPA (Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut) pada balita di Desa Geluntung, wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Marga I Tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 48 sampel ibu balita. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan rancangan cross sectional. Hasil uji statistic dengan uji chi-square antara perilaku ibu balita dengan kejadian ISPA diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0.015 (p<0,05). Hasil uji statistic dengan uji chi-square antara lingkungan fisik dengan kejadian ISPA diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0.017 (p<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antar perilaku ibu balita dengan kejadian ISPA, serta ada hubungan yang signifikan antar lingkungan fisik dengan kejadian ISPA. Disarankan kepada ibu balita untuk melakukan peningkatan perilaku yang baik dengan cara mengikuti penyuluhan kesehatan oleh petugas kesehatan, ataupun media informasi lainnya.
