Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF TEPID SPONGE THERAPY WITH HYPERTHERMIA PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN WHO HAVE FEVERS TYPHOID IN THE ORCHID ROOM OF TABANAN HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Typhoid fever is a condition characterized by systemic symptoms, including prolonged high fever and an increase in body temperature of more than 37.5°C. This is caused by infection with the Salmonella typhi bacteria. The aim of this research is to implement tepid sponge therapy for hyperthermia problems in children experiencing typhoid fever in the Orchid Room at Tabanan Regional Hospital. This research uses a descriptive case study design that applies case study methodology, data collection is carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the results of the assessment of children with a medical diagnosis of typhoid fever, a nursing diagnosis of hyperthermia was obtained related to the typhoid fever disease process, characterized by Mrs. S complained that her child had a fever since 4 days ago, red skin, tachycardia and warm skin. The main intervention carried out is hyperthermia management with observation, therapy, education, collaboration and administration of tepid sponge therapy. The implementation of tepid sponge therapy was carried out for 3 x 2 hours and the evaluation results showed that the hyperthermia problem was resolved. In conclusion, giving tepid sponge therapy obtained good results and was effective in reducing body temperature in An.T who had typhoid fever. Keywords: Typhoid Fever, Hyperthermia, Tepid Sponge IMPLEMENTASI TERAPI TEPID SPONGE DENGAN MASALAH HIPERTERMIA PADA ANAK YANG MENGALAMI DEMAM TIFOID DI RUANG ANGGREK RSUD TABANAN ABSTRAK Demam tifoid adalah suatu kondisi yang ditandai dengan gejala sistemik, termasuk demam tinggi yang berkepanjangan dan peningkatan suhu tubuh lebih dari 37,5°C. Hal ini disebabkan oleh infeksi bakteri Salmonella typhi. Tujun dari penelitian ini untuk melakukan implementasi terapi tepid sponge dengan masalah hipertermia pada anak yang mengalami demam tifoid di Ruang Anggrek RSUD Tabanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus deskriptif yang menerapkan metodologi studi kasus, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui hasil wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil pengkajian anak dengan diagnosa medis demam tifoid diperoleh diagnosis keperawatan hipertermia berhubungan dengan proses penyakit demam tifoid ditandai dengan Ny. S mengeluh anaknya demam sejak 4 hari lalu, kulit merah, takikardi dan kulit terasa hangat. Intervensi utama yang dilakukan adalah manajemen hipertermia dengan tindakan observasi, terapeutik, edukasi, kolaborasi dan pemberian terapi tepid sponge. Implementasi terapi tepid sponge dilakukan selama 3 x 2 jam dan hasil evaluasi menunjukan masalah hipertermia teratasi. Kesimpulan pemberian terapi tepid sponge memperoleh hasil yang baik dan efektif dalam menurunkan suhu tubuh pada An.T yang mengalami demam tifoid.
