Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN PATIENTS DIABETES MELLITUS AT BATURITI II HEALTH CENTER TABANAN DISTRICT ABSTRACT Hypercholesterolemia is cholesterol levels that exceed normal values. Increased cholesterol can occur if a person has other risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, causing a condition where cholesterol accumulates in the walls of the arteries (atherosclerosis). The aim of this research is to determine the description of cholesterol levels in diabetes mellitus sufferers at the Baturiti II Community Health Center. This research uses a descriptive research type, observational design with accidental sampling technique. Data was collected from 43 respondents during the period January to February 2024. Samples were examined using the POCT method. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents had quite high cholesterol levels, 23 people (53%) and a small percentage had normal cholesterol levels, namely 20 people (47%). Normal total cholesterol levels were found in diabetes mellitus sufferers in the adult age group (26-45 years) as many as 9 people (21%), male gender as many as 11 people (26%), non-smoking habits as many as 13 people (30%), and 11 people (26%) work as farmers. Borderrline total cholesterol levels were found in the elderly age group (60 years and over) as many as 10 people (23%), with female gender as many as 12 people (28%), non-smoking habits as many as 16 people (37%), and as many as 15 people working as farmers. people (35%). Key words: cholesterol, diabetes mellitus GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS DI PUSKESMAS BATURITI II KABUPATEN TABANAN ABSTRAK Hiperkolesterolemia adalah kadar kolesterol total yang melewati nilai normal. Meningkatnya kolesterol bisa terjadi jika seseorang mempunyai factor risiko lainnya seperti diabetes melitus, sehingga menyebabkan suatu kondisi dimana kolesterol menumpuk di dinding pembuluh darah arteri (aterosklerosis). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada penderita diabetes melitus di Puskesmas Baturiti II. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif desain observasional dengan teknik accidental sampling. Data dikumpulkan dari 43 responden selama periode Januari sampai Februari 2024. Sampel diperiksa dengan menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sebagian besar responden memiliki kadar kolesterol total borderline sebanyak 23 orang (53%) dan sebagian kecil memiliki kadar kolesterol total normal yaitu 20 orang (47%). Kadar kolesterol total normal ditemukan pada penderita diabetes melitus dengan kelompok usia dewasa (26-45 tahun) sebanyak 9 orang (21%), jenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 11 orang (26%), kebiasaan tidak merokok sebanyak 13 orang (30%), dan pada pekerjaan petani sebanyak 11 orang (26%). Kadar kolesterol total borderline ditemukan pada kelompok usia lansia (60 tahun keatas) sebanyak 10 orang (23%), dengan jenis kelamin Perempuan sebanyak 12 orang (28%), kebiasaan tidak merokok 16 orang (37%), dan pada pekerjaan petani sebanyak 15 orang (35%).
