Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH HYPERTENSION AT PUSKESMAS ABIANSEMAL I BADUNG REGENCY BALI ABSTRACT An elderly person is someone who has reached the age of 60 years or more. Along increasing age, changes in the structure and function of cells, tissues and organ systems occurs in the body. This can increase the risk of degenerative diseases in elderly such as hypertension. Hypertension is a multifactorial disease that can caused by cholesterol. Hypercholesterolemia can block blood vessels peripheral, there by triggering hypertension. The purpose of the research is to find out the description of total cholesterol levels in elderly people with hypertension in Abiansemal I Health Center, Badung Regency, Bali. This type of study used is descriptive research using non-probability techniques purposive sampling. The measurement of of total cholesterol levels using POCT method. The result of the study which was carried out on 44 elderly people with hypertension as many as 13 people (29.6%) had normal cholesterol levels, as many as 14 people (31.8%) had levels borderline cholesterol and as many as 17 people (38.6%) had cholesterol levels high total. Based on the characteristics of the respondent's dominant gender with High cholesterol levels in women were 10 people (22.7%). Based on Body mass index (BMI) is dominant among respondents with high total cholesterol levels in the normal BMI category there were 11 people (25.0%). The conclusion is the majority of elderly people suffer from hypertension in Abiansemal I Community Health Center has high total cholesterol levels. Keywords: elderly, total cholesterol, hypertension GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANJUT USIA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI PUSKESMAS ABIANSEMAL I KABUPATEN BADUNG – BALI ABSTRAK Lanjut usia adalah seseorang yang telah memasuki usia 60 tahun atau lebih. Seiring bertambahnya usia, perubahan struktur dan fungsi sel, jaringan, dan sistem organ terjadi di dalam tubuh. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan resiko penyakit degeneratif pada lansia seperti hipertensi. Hipertensi merupakan penyakit multifaktorial yang dapat disebabkan oleh kolesterol. Hiperkolesterolemia dapat menyumbat pembuluh darah perifer, sehingga memicu terjadinya hipertensi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada lansia penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Abiansemal I Kabupaten Badung-Bali. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik non probability secara purposive sampling. Pengukuran kadar kolesterol total menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada 44 lansia penderita hipertensi sebanyak 13 orang (29,6%) memiliki kadar kolesterol normal, sebanyak 14 orang (31,8%) memiliki kadar kolesterol ambang batas dan sebanyak 17 orang (38,6%) memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi. Berdasarkan karakteristik jenis kelamin dominan responden dengan kadar kolesterol tinggi pada perempuan sebanyak 10 orang (22,7%). Berdasarkan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dominan responden dengan kadar kolesterol total tinggi pada kategori IMT normal sebanyak 11 orang (25,0%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Abiansemal I memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi.
