Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF DURATION AND VOLUME ARAK CONSUMPTION WITH SGPT LEVELS IN ADULT MEN IN BANJAR DINAS ABANG KELOD, ABANG, KARANGASEM. ABSTRACT Arak is a type of alcoholic drink produced from the fermentation process of sap or often called palm wine by the Balinese people. Arak is included in group C alcoholic drinks with an ethanol content of more than 20 to 55%. Excessive consumption of arak in the long term can cause problems with liver function. Common examination to determine liver function is measuring SGPT levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between consumption of alcoholic beverages and SGPT levels in adult men in Banjar Dinas Abang Kelod, Abang District, Karangasem Regency, This study involved 32 people selected using purposive sampling technique. This was an analytic observational study with a cross sectional design. Afterwards, the data were analyzed by using Rank Spearman test. The results of this study obtained high SGPT scores for 29 people (80.6%). With the highest value of 194 U/L and the lowest value of 18 U/L. the average SGPT level was 66.99 U/L. With the Pearson test on the variable duration of arak consumption and the Spearman Rank test on the variable volume of arak consumed. Using the Pearson and Spearman Rank tests, a P value <0.05 was obtained for the duration of consumption and the amount of wine consumed with a positive correlation with the duration of consumption and a negative correlation with the amount of consumption with the strength of the relationship being quite strong. The research can be concluded that there is a significant and quite strong relationship between the consumption of arak alcoholic drinks and SGPT levels. HUBUNGAN LAMA DAN JUMLAH KONSUMSI ARAK DENGAN KADAR SGPT PADA PRIA DEWASA DI BANJAR DINAS ABANG KELOD, ABANG, KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Arak adalah minuman beralkohol jenis minuman keras yang dihasilkan dari proses fermentasi nira atau sering disebut tuak oleh masyarakat bali. Arak termasuk dalam minuman beralkohol golongan C dengan kadar etanol lebih dari 20 sampai dengan 55%. Konsumsi arak secara berlebihan dalam jangka panjang dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada fungsi hati. Pemeriksaan yang umum dilakukan untuk mengetahui fungsi hati yaitu pengukuran kadar SGPT. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan konsumsi minuman beralkohol arak dengan kadar SGPT pada pria dewasa di Banjar Dinas Abang kelod, Kecamatan Abang, Kabupaten Karangasem yaitu sejumlah 36 orang. Penelitian berjenis observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional dan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling. Data dianalisis dengan uji Pearson pada variabel lama konsumsi arak dan uji Rank Spearman pada variabel jumlah konsumsi arak. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh nilai SGPT tinggi sebanyak 29 orang (80,6%). Dengan nilai tertinggi sebesar 194 U/L dan nilai terendah sebesar 18 U/L. Rata-rata kadar SGPT 66,99 U/L. Dengan uji Pearson dan Rank Spearman diperoleh nilai P<0.05 pada lama konsumsi dan jumlah konsumsi arak dengan korelasi positif pada lama konsumsi dan negatif pada jumlah konsumsi dengan kekuatan hubungan cukup kuat. Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan dengan kekutan cukup kuat antara konsumsi minuman beralkohol arak dengan kadar SGPT.
