Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION FOR NON HEMORRHAGIC STROKE PATIENTS WITH VERBAL COMMUNICATION DISORDERS AT MANGUSADA HOSPITAL IN 2024 ABSTRACT Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke is a stroke that occurs when brain tissue and cells experience a lack of oxygen and nutrients due to narrowing or blockage of the brain's blood vessels. Verbal communication disorders will be experienced by patients if the Broca's area of the brain is affected by brain tissue death, so action is needed to overcome this problem, namely alternative communication. The aim of the research is to determine the implementation of alternative communication in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients with verbal communication disorders at Mangusada Hospital in 2024. The methods used to collect data in this case study are interviews and observation. The results of this case study show that there is an increase in speaking ability, appropriateness of expression, eye contact, behavioral responses and understanding of communication as evidenced by the subject starting to say words frequently even though the verbalization is less clear, being able to make eye contact and showing appropriate responses. The conclusion obtained after taking action on the subject, starting from assessment to nursing evaluation, was that the implementation of alternative communication in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients could improve speaking ability while also overcoming the problem of verbal communication disorders. Keywords : Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke, Verbal Communication Disorders, Alternative Communication IMPLEMENTASI KOMUNIKASI ALTERNATIF PADA PASIEN STROKE NON HEMORAGIK DENGAN GANGGUAN KOMUNIKASI VERBAL DI RSD MANGUSADA TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Stroke Non Hemoragik merupakan stroke yang terjadi jika jaringan dan sel�sel otak mengalami kekurangan oksigen dan nutrisi yang disebabkan adanya penyempitan atau penyumbatan pembuluh darah otak. Gangguan komunikasi verbal akan dialami oleh pasien jika area Broca dari otak yang terpengaruh oleh kematian jaringan otak, maka diperlukannya tindakan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu dengan komunikasi alternatif. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui implementasi komunikasi alternatif pada pasien Stroke Non Hemoragik dengan gangguan komunikasi verbal di RSD Mangusada tahun 2024. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data dalam studi kasus ini adalah metode wawancara dan observasi. Hasil studi kasus ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berbicara, kesesuaian ekspresi, kontak mata, respon perilaku dan pemahaman komunikasi dibuktikan dengan subjek mulai sering mengucapkan kata�kata meskipun verbilisasi kurang jelas, mampu melakukan kontak mata dan menunjukkan respon yang sesuai. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan setelah dilakukan tindakan kepada subjek mulai dari pengkajian sampai evaluasi keperawatan didapatkan bahwa implementasi komunikasi alternatif pada pasien Stroke Non Hemoragik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bicara sekaligus mengatasi masalah gangguan komunikasi verbal.
