Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION IN PATIENTS RECEIVING CHEMOTHERAPY WITH NAUSEA PROBLEMS AT TABANAN HOSPITAL IN 2024 ABSTRACT Breast cancer is the growth of abnormal cells in breast tissue which can be treated with chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is the administration of cytotoxic drugs to destroy cancer cells with one of the side effects is nausea and vomiting. The aim of this research is to find out how to implement progressive muscle relaxation in patients receiving chemotherapy with nausea problems at the Tabanan Hospital. This research uses descriptive research in the form of an in-depth case study. The instruments used were observation sheets and nursing care formats. The assessment it was found that the patient complained of nausea, decreased appetite, felt like vomiting, and the patient looked pale. The nursing diagnosis determined was nausea related to effects of pharmacological agents and psychological factors as evidenced by the patient complaining of nausea, decreased appetite, feeling like vomiting, and looking pale. Nursing implementation is carried out 3x24 hours with focus on providing progressive muscle relaxation. The results of this study showed decrease in the nausea scale in the last therapy from scale of 5 to 3 after progressive muscle relaxation was given. It is hoped that progressive muscle relaxation can be used especially by nurses to treat nausea after undergoing chemotherapy. Keywords : Breast Cancer, Chemotherapy, Nausea, Progressive Muscle Relaxation IMPLEMENTASI RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF PADA PASIEN YANG MENDAPATKAN KEMOTERAPI DENGAN MASALAH NAUSEA DI RSUD TABANAN TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Kanker payudara merupakan pertumbuhan sel abnormal pada jaringan payudara yang pengobatan dapat diberikan dengan kemoterapi. Kemoterapi merupakan pemberian obat sitotoksik untuk menghancurkan sel kanker dengan salah satu efek samping yaitu mual muntah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi relaksasi otot progresif pada pasien yang mendapatkan kemoterapi dengan masalah nausea di RSUD Tabanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan bentuk studi kasus mendalam. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan format asuhan keperawatan. Pada pengkajian didapatkan pasien mengeluh mual, nafsu makan berkurang, merasa ingin muntah, dan pasien tampak pucat. Diagnosis keperawatan yang dirumuskan adalah nausea berhubungan dengan efek agen farmakologis dan faktor psikologis dibuktikan dengan pasien mengeluh mual, nafsu makan berkurang, merasa ingin muntah, dan tampak pucat. Implementasi keperawatan dilakukan 3x24 jam dengan berfokus pada pemberian relaksasi otot progresif. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan penurunan skala mual pada terapi terakhir dari skala 5 menjadi 3 setelah diberikan relaksasi otot progresif. Diharapkan relaksasi otot progresif dapat digunakan khususnya oleh perawat untuk mengatasi nausea setelah menjalankan kemoterapi.
